MARKUS is a flexible software solution that provides end-to-end job management. Its modular construction means it works for all sizes of organisations: we tailor MARKUS to fit your business needs.

MARKUS enables you to easily keep track of and monitor jobs – and for everyone involved to access real-time information and input details, photos and comments as they go. All communication is linked to each job, saving duplication and time on calls and emails.

MARKUS’ advanced technology enables it to deal with all aspects of repair, maintenance, cyclical, planned and scheduled works, voids and projects. It features a full back office service management system, mobile working app, client portal and sub-contractor portal.

How MARKUS can help you

MARKUS helps save time and money by streamlining both your workflow and your communications.

Does a new tender or contract require a system you do not have?

Do you need a new system or interface implemented asap?

We’ve faced this situations many times – and with enough commitment and focus from you we can have MARKUS set up and working in a surprisingly short space of time. We never wish to hurry implementation, but when we’ve needed to we’ve managed to get MARKUS live for clients within two weeks.

If you carry out responsive maintenance then interfacing with your customers’ systems can deliver substantial savings – for both you and them. This helps cement relationships and once in place the savings continue for as long as the contract.

MARKUS has been successfully interfaced with all the big housing and commercial systems such as Aareon QL, Capita, Causeway, Civica, Concerto, Elogbooks, IBS, MCS, MIS, Open Housing, Oracle, Orchard, Netcall and Verisae, as well as to a variety of bespoke applications.

All our developers are employed in house and are able to meet whatever requirements your client’s application provider throws at them.

To highlight problems quickly and easily MARKUS displays open jobs, out of response jobs and other key performance indicators on screen.

MARKUS streamlines the ‘record fault > fix fault > charge’ cycle by looking critically at all the processes in the life of a typical job, and identifying which tasks could be eliminated. We wrote MARKUS from scratch to suit this world: dashboards, stock control, purchasing and mobile working are all an integral part of the solution MARKUS offers.

MARKUS’ client portal means you can give your clients electronic access to their jobs. You decide what information you want them to see and you both save time – phone calls and emails to check on job progress are reduced, as are staff interruptions and the need to log conversations.

Using MARKUS this way not only saves you time and money but creates a professional impression, shows you are proud of the service you provide and that you have nothing to hide.

With MARKUS you can slice and dice your work streams (by customer, work type, contract type, engineer…) and quickly identify which jobs, clients and contracts are the most profitable and, more importantly, which are the least.

MARKUS provides a mobile working and office solution that eliminates the double handling and inefficiencies of a paper system. It gives you more control and delivers a host of other benefits too. The mobile software is easy to use and guides the user through the correct flow of tasks, gathering relevant information at the right points. The back-office system allows you to control repair requests, planned maintenance, voids, invoice processing, contract management, purchasing, stock control and much more.

MARKUS improves the way you work and provides:

MARKUS’ full back office system is browser based and provides customisable real-time dashboards, a suite of real-time reporting and KPI monitoring, and full drill-down details about individual jobs and properties. Options exist within the browser system to allow different levels of access to different types of users, and to remove unneeded features for smaller organisations.

MARKUS’ back office system also tightly integrates with both the engineers’ mobile working platform, and electronic client interfaces. This removes the need for paperwork, reduces phone calls and provides detailed KPI reporting to all parties.

MARKUS handles the flow of information thoughout the life of the job – from when teh job is created in your client’s system, through the contractor allocating the work, the engineer visiting the site and completing their tasks, the contractor costing the jobs until, ultimately, all the information is transferred back to your client’s system.

We have supported mobile working since 2001, and rewrite MARKUS to keep pace with changing technology and capabilities. The mobile application, MARKUS MOBILE, works on all Android devices and supports customer smart phones, tablets and rugged devices.

The data automatically gathered from an engineer’s device is used to generate timesheets. The simple user interface walks the engineer through the process of logging the information which can then flow back to the client – no access issues, real-time completion updates, notes, health and safety checks, and cyclical certificates like CP12s etc.

Signature capture, photos, materials tracking, apprentice working, non-productive time booking and much more is all easy to add. It typically takes us less than two hours to train a team of five engineers to become familiar with how the software operates. Regular updates are provided to keep MARKUS working on all devices.

MARKUS supports integration with a number of client systems, merchants and accounts packages. These include Civica/InHouse, Capita/IBS, Northgate, Aareon QL, Orchard, Versiae, Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, Travis Perkins, Wolseley, and Jewsons.

Specific requirements are always driven by our clients, but a typical building maintenance interface includes provision for:

  • Jobs and updates received from client to contractors
  • Status updates flowing back from contractor to client
  • Notes and photos from contractor to client
  • Variations requests from the contractor
  • Completion information
  • Payment details from the client

We have extensive experience of linking disparate systems together using a wide variety of techniques – fixed file formats, XML, CSV, SOAP, custom APIs – and can act as either host or client to the transfer folders or web-services needed to link the client with the contractor.
