SIX EPIX HOLIDAY IDEAS!

The summer is upon us! Taking breaks now and then is really important, and one of the best places to relax is on holiday! Here are six places members of the EPIX team enjoy going, and what there is to do while you’re there.
1 – France
France is like England’s next-door neighbour who also happens to be their 3rd cousin twice removed: friendly, homely but far enough away to class as unrelated. Known of course, for its city of love, incredible food, large triangular structures – finding something to do in between the luscious art galleries and secret-locking bridges is easy. France has everything you could need for a wonderful holiday away, particularly if you have friends or family over there, like some of us at EPIX.
2 – South Devon/Exmouth
The EPIX team really enjoys southern England, it’s like England but marginally nicer. Caravanning in South Devon is a treat, and not only for the fudge – the sea is actually a reasonable temperature and swimming and kayaking are a fully enjoyable experience. Beaches like Sandy Bay offer a day full of delight with beloved pets, and those children too, not to mention the range of beautiful countryside landscapes. Southern Devon is a great place to be outdoors.
3 – Cornwall/Newquay
Cornwall almost feels like a different place to the rest of England. Pure countryside and warmer weather, what’s not to love? If we ignore the miniscule roads, that is… Cornwall is at the heart of cottage life. With a baby airport stationed in Newquay, it’s even easier to get there and wistfully drink wine while looking over the wonderful beaches like Kynance Cove, or trying your hand at watersports, eating pasties and cornish ice-cream.
4 – Staycation
Staying at home can take some of the stress away from travel, and makes it easier for you to do what you feel like, whether that is getting the bike out or getting your bake on. There is no better feeling than waking up at midday in your cosy bed with no plans for the day. Being at home also gives you the opportunity to explore places around you. There are plenty of museums and beautiful architecture around to enjoy, wherever you are.
5 – Wales
Wales is quite close to home for us, and the weather is certainly no better than Manchester, but for an easy holiday out with the family it’s a no-brainer. Staying in a caravan near the sea is an especially enjoyable treat, the coastal walks are beautiful and Wales is home to many attractions: seaside theme parks like Oakwood and teeth melting sweets. But, more than anything, Wales invites you to visit the large castle ruins stationed all around. It can make for a lovely weekend trip if you’re low on holiday days.
6 – Lake District
The Lake District is a firm favourite for many holiday types. Bowness-on-Windermere is a popular destination for boat and watersports enthusiasts as it has easy access to Lake Windermere, while Orrest Head is popular with walkers and hikers alike. All of this, topped with the beauty of the rural-esc landscape and small towns like Kendal, make it an attractive spot for photographers and artists too. All in all, there’s something for everyone – as long as you don’t mind the rain.
