Costing a job shouldn’t be hard. Not all clients use the standard Natfed list and MARKUS knows that, that’s why we support custom SOR lists and prices out of the box.
How do I set it up?
MARKUS lets you use different SOR codes for different clients. It’s as simple as importing a spreadsheet of codes for each list, and selecting the list you want for each client.
You can then easily create new price lists for that SOR list by entering a description and an uplift value.
We even support custom prices on individual SORs, which you can do when creating a pricelist, or at any time by editing the SOR itself.
These can be selected on a contract-by-contract basis so you can be sure you’re costing the right rate for the right type of work.
How does this affect my subcontractors?
You can give your subcontractors different costs by setting a subcontractor base rate against the SOR. You can customise this further per contractor through the subcontractor percentage field which appears in their operative page in the system, this determines what percentage of that base rate will get paid to them. Don’t worry, this only applies when they are selected to receive bonus so you are always in total control.
How does this affect my engineers?
MARKUS supports paying your engineers bonus based on the SORs they deliver on a job. The bonus amounts can be set against each SOR in an SOR list when it is first imported, and can be edited at any time.
This will show up in your cost reports throughout the system, and once you’re ready to pay it, you can generate a bonus payment for any outstanding bonus for both operatives and aforementioned subcontractors. This will then show on the job sheet so you can find all the information you need about your job in one place.
