When I first started at EPIX, I knew this role would be a real step up from my previous experiences. As an apprentice manager this year has been about learning, growing, and contributing in meaningful ways. It’s been a whirlwind, and as I sit here reflecting on my first year, it feels like the time has flown by!
Training Days and Customer Visits
A major highlight of my first month at EPIX was getting hands-on experience visiting several customers. I had the opportunity to join Chris on visits to BCS and Manchester Electrical, where we delivered implementation training for our software, MARKUS. These days are always exciting—seeing first-hand how our solutions transform the way our customers work is incredibly rewarding.
Throughout the year, I also had the chance to visit other key clients, such as A1, UPS, and WRPS. Each visit has been an opportunity to engage with our customers, understand their needs, and witness the impact we’re making on their operations. Supporting clients through their journey with MARKUS has been one of the most fulfilling parts of the job.
Big Milestones and Events
This year has been packed with memorable milestones and events. One of the biggest projects I worked on was organising our attendance at CIH Housing Brighton and Housing 24. This included discussing the layout of our stand, choosing the literature and marketing materials, and ensuring everything was ready to go for the big days. I spent most of both days on the stand, engaging with attendees and showcasing how EPIX’s solutions can transform housing management.
Another key milestone was the office redesign. I took a lead role in transforming the look of our office space, managing the installation of new furniture for both the meeting room and breakout areas. The goal was to create a more inviting and comfortable environment for collaboration. I am currently working on the finishing touches and can’t wait to share the new look with you.
In addition, I’ve been actively involved in recruitment and onboarding. From reading CVs to sitting in on interviews and managing the entire onboarding process, it’s been a rewarding way to contribute to the company’s growth.
And, of course, the Christmas raffle was another major highlight! It’s a beloved tradition here at EPIX – bringing everyone together for some festive fun. I’m already looking forward to what 2024’s raffle has in store!
Social Outings and Team Bonding
Another highlight of my first year has been the social outings and opportunities to bond with the team. Whether it was competing in Mario Kart, testing our skills at mini golf, or working together to solve an escape room, these events were always a fun way to relax and connect outside of work. Our Christmas dinner and post-open-day celebration dinners were also wonderful chances to unwind and celebrate our hard work.
Looking Ahead
As I wrap up my first year, I can’t help but feel excited about what’s next. EPIX has been a place of growth, challenge, and fun for me, and I’m eager to continue learning and contributing in the years to come.
