The mobile app has the ability to allow engineers to request holidays. Recently, we were asked if we could add the functionality to book half day holidays from this screen too. Our latest build allows you to do just that – making booking holidays more flexible and dynamic.
When half day absences are turned on, the engineer will see two new drop-down boxes on the screen when they go to book a holiday. These boxes initially contain the start time and end time of their shift using the values set in the system when the screen loads.
If the engineer would like to book half a day, they can edit the time of their holiday by using the drop downs to select the time representing the middle of their shift. Then the holiday will be passed back to the back office to be accepted.
