Maybe we should choose the images more carefully if we are going to squeeze the Feb release into the last day of the month? Let us assume for now that this references the love we put into every release, and not just an attempt to cash in on valentines day 2 weeks too late.
To make it easy to trigger bulk status changes against a list of jobs we have added a new “bulk change” to the jobs requiring action detail reports. This gives you a new button in the top right corner of the report – clicking the new button will reload the report with check boxes to select jobs, and clicking it again will take you through to a bulk status change screen for the selected jobs. I suspect Chris will be doing a YouTube video soon to walk you through the process.
This release also sees some changes to the experimental Google Maps API integration that grew out of Zahir’s final year MMU synoptic project. This is currently only released to a couple of contractors who are playing with it – but if this is something that might be of interest to you then please let us know. There are several improvements to the report showing engineer locations relative to their work for a day in this update.
New Features
- New “Bulk Change” capability on jobs requiring action report
- Improvements to the engineer status map
- New supplier “orders prohibited” field to warn/prevent users from raising orders against the supplier (or using issue to subcontractor) without archiving/hiding them from the entry screens
- Suppress duplication of logging purchase order emails into order history and communication history
- Changes to the issue bulk screen to support the overriding of all dates to allow quick issue of all jobs for the same day regardless of individual appointments and target dates
- Added the existing notes/attachments to the add notes/attachment screen so you can see what you already have added
- Project creation now applies the same rules for adding manual jobs with blank customer job numbers as are applied when creating the initial jobs from project templates – i.e. new jobs are added with /A, /B, /C etc automatically appended to the main project job number
- Added the supplier notes to the issue to subcontractor process
- Removed stale GPS details from the engineer status widget
- Added an override to stores email for individual engineers to allow nightly stores emails to be sent to custom mailboxes
