September Release 2024

Posted on September 13, 2024

Releases

Summer was a little slower for exciting new features than we have become used to! If you have been waiting for an easy picklist of clientbranch types, the ability to show risk assessments whilst you are onsite, or a new accruals report then this is definitely the release for you. If not, then it’s still full of small new changes and bug fixes, but nothing that will set you on fire.

For example, hidden in the new features list is something we promised to just a single user at the end of July – adding our sales invoice numbers to the job site report. This is now a column off to the right with the other invoice related columns, and gives you quick access to the invoices without having to click through the jobsheet.

Possibly the most significant change, if Christmas raffles are your thing, is the set of improvements on the new look login screen. Over the next few months Ella has planned out a series of announcements and useful guides that will be showcased as you login each morning. Keep your eyes peeled for the right hand panel to change almost daily as we’ve made it so that this can be easily updated by Ella between releases.

New Features

  • Added a new table to store a selectable list of clientbranches (industry type) that users can pick from in the client wizard when setting up new clients, and added support for easy filtering by clientbranch to the site details report.
  • The mobile app now has the capability to show completed pre-visit risk assessments whilst the engineer is progressing the rest of the job – so that they can add additional risks, and also so they can prove to someone on site that they have completed their RAMs, and what the outcome was.
  • Added added a back button from the engineer signature screen on the mobile application so that when the engineer accidentally skips through the end of visit screen they can easily go back and correct the information. This has not been added to the customer signature screen to prevent residents/site managers from stepping back through the job.
  • New (Sage) purchase order importer to import, deliver, and invoice purchase orders in a single process to enable two way flow of data between MARKUS and Sage where some POs are initially raised in Sage.
  • Recording matching sales lines across multiple engineers on the mobile application will combine these in the back office.
  • Changes to the login screen to contractor logos, and add support links for emojis, email, phone, and socials including changing social media links so they now open in a new page.
  • New “52 Week Planner Report” for SFG020 projects to show distribution of tasks / assets throughout the year.
  • Improved the sequence of columns in the items requiring action dashboard widget so that “monitored clients” and “monitored contracts” that happen to have similar names are more obviously different.
  • Added supplier reference column to the “Find Purchase Orders” report.
  • Added ability to show issued and multistatus jobs on items requiring action widget via filters that can be personalised to force the additional statuses.
  • Added sales invoice numbers to the job site report.
  • Changed the interfaced filter on find jobs report to be a tri-state so jobs not imported via an interface can be filtered for.
  • Added contact specific control in the client wizard to the default setting of appointments tick box when issuing work so individual contracts can override the system wide setting.
  • New accounts journal report for unsent supplier invoices – similar to the reserves/accruals report but showing line totals summarised by nominal codes rather than invoice totals.
  • Added the internal KPI details to the items requiring action dashboard widget so all users can see what they are.

Changes For A Single Contractor

  • New interface validation file for Orchard integration to Cobalt Housing to enable daily reconciliation of all live jobs.
  • New contractor mobile application build to support refrigerated vehicle maintenance.

Platform Improvements

  • Improvements to our internal user licence management module to allow the implementation team to directly add additional licences on demand.
  • PHP8 migration fixes as the rollout continues to all contractors.
  • Added support for previewing the login screen announcements on test systems.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed highlighting of the current job on the ACR version of the mobile application.
  • Fixed intermittent bug on  the “popup” supplier invoice entry affecting costcode/cost centre.
  • Changes to the standard job list filters so that the complete job list inherits compatible filters for live -v- complete jobs.
  • Fixed incorrect handling of blank client details when stepping through the client wizard so the saving the customer setup screen without setting billing information no longer inserts a dash character. Also fixed a related problem affecting engineer holiday allocation when running the annual leave reports.
  • Added the postcode back into the address popup on the engineer diary screen.
  • Fixed incorrect calculations of the sales invoice total not accounting for deductions on the invoice printout when both nominal CIS deductions and DRC CIS VAT were combined.
  • Multiple fixes to PDF and CSV export of standard reports, and related problems with specific process driven reports eg on the jobsheet.
  • Fixed colour of the title bar for the related works orders on the jobsheet.
  • Fixed mobile application crash relating to reclaimed refrigerant.
  • Changes to the overflow, size, and wrapping of client logos at the bottom of the dashboard.
  • Removed the deprecated “JOBEVENT” substitutions on the communication setup screen.
  • Fixed export to CSV bug that cleared some (but not all) filters.
  • Fixed handling of midnight jobs on the day view operative calendar.
  • Fixed mobile application sync problem with long notes.
  • Fixed multiple minor differences and performance problems between the attachments reports used by emailing purchase orders, the purchase order screen, and the jobsheet.
  • Fixed a bug with the new non-job expenses recording within the mobile application.
